I found this restaurant as a member of dining program. Persian food tends to be delicious in general so I figured this was a safe bet and placed a take out order expecting the food to be phenomenal. It was not. We got their combo platter, which lets you sample all 4 of their main meats. The food was a 5/10 at best. Their beef barg and their chicken barg, were both disappointing with the chicken barg actually being rather tough (overcooked). Their beef kubideh and chicken kubideh were a little better. If not for how much their food costs, the chicken might be worth having but even that is a big maybe and only if you really had no where else to eat. We had upgraded our rice to their "speciality" zereshk polo and I enjoyed it, though the others who shared the meal with me did not. The food was packaged in a container that was too big (or maybe their portions are too small?) with the container feeling half empty. Given how much you are paying ($33+ for their combo), you definitely don't want the first thing you feel when you open your food container to be disappointment. If nothing else, they probably just could have added some more rice to pad the container a bit. The last thing that made the food terrible was the fact that they included some bread, which is the same as what you can get at your local market basket ($2 for 5 pieces of bread in a pack). Felt terribly cheap and honestly, if they had just left it out, I probably would have been way happier but including something like that, especially after reading about how they usually make this own in-house tandoori bread (which this was not), was extremely disappointing. If it was just the food that was not up to expectations then I probably wouldn't have bothered to even write this review because bad food happens sometimes... What made it worse was the fact that they are not handling take-out well at all during this covid day and age and if this was April, I'd have been fine with it but it is August (nearly 5 months since the pandemic started in the US). At the restaurant they have a sign on their door that says take-out needs to use the back door. First of all, when someone is paying a lot for a meal, it is disappointing to be shown to the back door. Their backdoor is all the way around the restaurant with no further signage to indicate you're even going to the right place. The path isn't paved and it's rather desolate. At night, I'm sure you'd be worried about getting jumped or walking into someone else's back yard or something (not to mention this vibe is made worse by how they have construction equipment behind their restaurant). Second, their backdoor is just a door that leads to the kitchen. Again, if this was April or even May, this would have been fine but they really should have figured out take-out by now. The cherry on top was how dining program site says that these guys accept Amex cards (I am assuming the restaurant tells them what they do/do not accept) but then when I got there, the person who tended to me said they do not (even though I am sure they could--they just want to inconvenience their customers because Amex charges a slightly higher processing fee than other credit card companies). As I mentioned before, I came to as a member of dining program and the card I had registered was my Amex. I have seen some businesses turn away Amex cards before because of the higher fee but they are usually small mom and pop stores where margins are tight--not "upscale" restaurants that are charging you a ton of money. I'm glad I brought another card with me but then again, maybe I shouldn't be glad because that would have meant I wouldn't have had to over pay for this food that doesn't even taste that good. They market themselves as an "upscale, modern middle-eastern restaurant" but the only thing upscale about my experience with them saw was their prices. Definitely never going back and will recommend everyone else that I know to not even bother trying them.

We love Shiraz Persian Cuisine! In my opinion, they have the most authentic Persian food in the Boston area!
