Description:
Jacksonville's Intracoastal West neighborhood has gotten a true culinary gem thanks to Shannon and Ryan Kanobrosk. The sibling owners have anointed Chef Millard Cooley to helm the kitchen at The Good Food Company, and that decision has opened a world of culinary adventure to local and traveling diners. Once you step inside you'll immediately be struck by the contemporary design, one that equates modern furnishings with comfortable restaurant surroundings. The centerpiece of the 150-seat space is the Chef's Block. Here a dozen diners can settle in on a "first come first served" basis at a community table that is a culinary showcase for Chef Cooley's talents and knowledge. There's even a large bar space where guests can relax with a few cocktails or check out the interesting eats that are paired with drinks. For those coming to enjoy a full dinner though, the kitchen explores a rewarding history of techniques such as charcuterie, the French culinary art of cured meats. Dishes like Flounder Fran Chaise, Sage Braised Pork Tenderloins, Skate Wing Papillote, and Grilled New Zealand Lamb Rack are just some of the inventive and seasonal finds guests can savor. NOTEWORTHY: Closed Mondays. Lunch is served Tuesday thru Saturday from 11am-2pm (2:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, while dinner takes over from 5-10pm (10:30pm on Friday and Saturday). Check out Sunday Brunch 11am-2pm each week.
