Description:

New York City's most popular French steakhouse is Steak Frites, a restaurant that GOURMET MAGAZINE called the "most satisfyingly genuine bistro ever to open in New York City." In its legendary Union Square location, the signature red signage extends a warm welcome exceeded only by the sophisticated setting that awaits within. House specialties include Steak Frites, of course - with a choice of Filet, Rib Eye or Angus NY Strip - served a la Béarnaise or Au Poivre with the restaurant's namesake house-cut fries. What's more, as a new twist on an old theme, the menu also offers both Chicken and Moules Frites. Still, before ordering, be sure to check out the daily lunch and dinner specials, which include such delights as Coq au Vin Rouge, Seared Tuna Mediterranean and Bouillabaisse American. Yet another marvelous choice are the restaurant's fresh Seafood Dishes and Certified Angus Burgers, which were voted "New York's Juiciest." Steak Frites offers outdoor seating, and an extensive draft and bottled beer list, as well as a singular selection of wines by glass or bottle. Cocktails and Specialty Martinis are also part of the barkeep's repertoire, and the daily Happy Hour here is one of Union Square's most popular. A marvelous Prix Fixe Brunch is served Sat. & Sun. from 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Steak Frites is also available for private functions. Just call for further information.
